Your journey begins in Sembalun Village at an elevation of 1,100m. You’ll enjoy wide-open views and long trails across sunny meadows. To reach the 2,639 m crater rim, you’ll need plenty of energy to tackle five steep and challenging hills. On the second day, the real adventure starts at 2 a.m. as you push for the 3,726m summit. Reaching the top of Indonesia’s second-highest peak just in time for sunrise is a truly unforgettable moment to capture in photos. The second day involves trekking back to Sembalun along the same route. Even though it’s the same path, the challenge will be different as you’ll be managing your remaining energy.
